Insurance and specialty meds

Must Read

I’m wondering what people do when they require an extremely expensive medication and either don’t have insurance or their insurance covers little to none of the cost. Are there any other ways to get help paying for the medicine?

Also, if you have an employer-sponsored plan and they don’t cover much of the cost, does that out-of-pocket expense always count toward the maximum out of pocket for the plan, or are prescriptions separate, and therefore they have no maximum out-of-pocket limit?

Thanks for your help!
