My husband and I have a Humana HMO through his work. I called them so we could add a primary care doctor, and the rep on the phone said that we don’t need to assign a primary care doctor, and referrals aren’t necessary to see a specialist. I’m confused, because I thought that was how HMOs work. Has anyone ever heard of this? I have appointments with my endo and my primary coming up, so I want to be sure.
