Should I get expensive insurance via my wife’s employer or go through the marketplace?

I work at a small business (2 employees) that doesn’t offer health insurance. My wife is a nurse and gets great insurance for her but it is really expensive to add me on her plan (~$600/mo). It also doubles our deductible and out of pocket max to add me. I’m okay getting a HDHP for myself but we may have a kid this year so we want to pay up for the good plan for her that has a low deductible. Annual household income of <$100k but >$50k. Any info you all can give me? I’ve never shopped for health insurance before.
