Welp, I turn 26 in April this year and won’t find out my bar exam results until that same week – meaning I more than likely will be kicked off my parents health insurance while still being unemployed. TX still hasn’t expanded Medicaid either so I guess my question is, am I completely screwed? Since it’s still a little early I can’t even check to see what my monthly payments would be for the cheapest marketplace options. Does anyone have any suggestions or tips as to what I should do next? What kind of monthly payments should I expect as an individual with no income? I’ve been applying to jobs but unfortunately most employers hear, “I’m taking the bar exam” and say, “well let’s just wait and see if you pass first… apply once you get your results.” My parents have been big assholes about it too, telling me to just “figure it out” when I ask them for help, or if they can front the costs until I can land a job. Welcome to adulthood, I guess.
Thanks for y’all’s help.
