Health insurance is a confusing and overwhelming thing to deal with so I’ll explain how it works real simple and easy:
a DEDUCTIBLE is the amount of money you must pay out of pocket before the insurance company will kick in and give you ANY benefits. (Most Obamacare plan have these about 5k-8k) Obamacare is designed for low income individuals who can get discounts on premiums based on their annual income before taxes OR unhealthy people with major Heath conditions that generally will meet their deductible. A PPO network means you can go to 95% of hospitals/doctors nationwide . HMO means you are limited on doctors only in your county and if you are traveling outside of that country and need to go to a doctor, you have no coverage. You also need a referral from your primary doctor to see a specialist. EPO networks do not need a referral but they are even more limited on doctors to choose from in your area and you don’t have coverage outside of your county. HEALTH BASED plans on PPO networks are available with no deductible or copay. You can qualify for these plans just by being healthy. They have the best rates and best benefits overall.
