I am thinking about leaving Medicaid after many, many years and I have no idea how regular insurance works. If I enroll through Independence Blue Cross in Pennsylvania and I go to a CVS in New York, will my prescription be covered? With Medicaid it’s state-by-state, which is what I’m used to, and it’s insufferable because I travel.
Medicaid is a great option but it’s too much of a hassle. So many medications need prior auths and I feel like lately my doctors have had to jump through hoops whenever a change needs to be made. It’s a burden at this point and I have come to the conclusion that I don’t mind paying for a little more convenience.
