I have health insurance through Covered California. I just got a new job and my new health insurance starts on November 1st. (Today is September 25th).
I have chronic shoulder l issues (never formally diagnosed) that have recently become really bad and I need to see a doctor.
If I go to the doctor now (using my current insurance) and he sends me to get an MRI or to a specialist… and then I go on my NEW insurance in November, and attempt to continue care on the new insurance…will I disqualify myself from coverage due to a (newly established) “preexisting condition”?
should I WAIT until my new insurance becomes active before going to the doctor (rather than going to the doctor NOW, with my current insurance)? To avoid having my claim be rejected due to preexisting condition?
