Is there a “catch” with the PPO plans from CoveredCalifornia

I am interested in the Silver Blue Shield PPO because I had Blue Shield PPO from my last job. I noticed that the premium for the CoveredCA Blue Shield PPO is roughly one-third of the all-in (employee+employer) premium for the employer-sponsored plans. When I compared the benefits summary of the two plans, I noticed that the CoveredCA plan has worse terms in general (higher deductible, higher out-of-pocket costs, higher co-pay, etc), which sounds reasonable given the lower premium. Is there any other major caveat with the CoveredCA plans? Do providers treat the CoveredCA PPO differently than the employer-sponsored PPO differently?
