Thinking about stopping healthcare through my employer? How to do that?

27 y/o healthy male. Currently under United Healthcare through my employer. UH takes ~$120 out of my paycheck each cycle (bi-weekly). I have a TASC card with $1.5K of “free” medical-related spending money at my disposal too… Co-pays are usually $60 for me, but I just use the TASC card then.

I was looking at my portal in my UnitedHealthcare account and noticed I have around $3K of “you may owe” outstanding from a very complicated UTI I had throughout the months of July-October. For example, the one “you may owe” is $1.5K to this company called Pathnostics for doing an in-depth UTI test that showed no bacterial infection. To make a long story short, I just have a pelvic floor dysfunction… Anyways, I am going to resubmit literally every “you may owe” back through insurance and get them to pay for as much as humanly possible. Any tips on how to do this? Do I need to start a claim for each one?

Quick question on Medicare:
I was looking at my paystub and noticed I paid $40 to Medicare, and have been doing so. I believe Medicare is for those who are not employed/cannot afford health insurance… correct?

Thanks all – my first year on my own insurance so trying to figure it out and pay for as little as possible.
