We barely make ends meet, it’s a good paycheck when we can save $100 between us (this year we managed to save 1400, which seems great, except then we had an emergency and needed to pull from it, and 1400 for 2 people for 24 paychecks is…. honestly really disheartening considering we already eat a lot of cheap pasta and spend a week at a time eating ramen with home made chicken stock (cheap, you get a few chicken meals AND broth), we live cheap, we have some pets but they’re cheap too (A few bucks a week). between our cars, car insurance, gas, emergencies (like tire blowouts) rent, utilities, small stuff like new air filters or shampoo or dish soap, and food all of which is the cheap stuff. (we also rarely eat out) our income is eaten up, we are good at living frugally but we can’t afford $500-600 a month, He’s moving jobs soon and will make $1-2 more per hour, but will lose his insurance (the 2 hour a day drive is mentally exhausting when he’s doing 3 people’s work on top and being away from home 11-14 hours a day), I’m on his vision and dental now but the health coverage would have cost an extra $300 a paycheck just to add me to it, which is just a little less than i make per paycheck now.
I have a job I applied for with health insurance but no word on the cost and I can only work part time before being burned out to the point I can’t think and have a mental breakdown.
life is torture when you have to chant “throw this away” as you cross the room to get a piece of garbage to the can without forgetting and setting it down half way there (and doing that with every tiny thing you do every single day and not remembering 90% of the other things you need to do because you just can’t because it takes ALL your focus to do the one small thing in front of you, and of course you forget to write down the things in a notebook or forget you have the notebook to check)
I don’t know what to do, i struggle to figure out how to mail a letter, So the health insurance thing is really overwhelming, and I don’t know how we can make 500-600 work with a 17,000 deductible and no prescription coverage on top of that.
Not comfortable adding a zip because some creep was harassing me on here a couple of years ago but we live in Georgia.
