Hey everyone,
My backstory: I’m 29 years old, and have been in school for most of 2021 and recently graduated in November. I was enrolled in the health insurance my school provided, in which coverage ends this month. Throughout school I’ve been unemployed and am currently unemployed, so basically I am looking for cheap health insurance for a few months until I get a job, in which I’ll just sign up for the health insurance provided by my employer. I am currently applying for and am eligible for Medi-Cal, and they’re asking for Proof of Income. Right now, my income is $0 but on my 2020/2021 tax forms it shows my income as over $100k (this is from my previous employer where I quit before I started school). Will this affect my eligibility? How do I prove that I am currently making $0 income despite what my taxes say? Also, any other advice is appreciated for my situation. Thanks!
