Hello all,
I (30M) recently aged out of Simple Secure coverage and got automatically upgraded to an Oscar Bronze Classic. Premiums jumped from $185 to $657/mo (expensive af because I live in NY state -__-). My employer has agreed to reimburse me for an annual rate of $5000, so I logged in to my healthcare portal to check for payment options.
I saw that now: 1) monthly premiums for my plan had dropped to $612/month;
2) I had a credit of $137 to my account balance (this would be the difference of how much I overpaid for January-March)
3) the portal said my next bill would be due in September.
Now, all this is totally fine by me, but why are my premiums being changed without me being notified? And why is my next bill due 6 months from now when my credit balance should only cover part of the next month’s bill?
Trust me I’m fine not having to pay until then I just want to make sure I won’t be denied coverage or be forced to back pay for those months if it turns out they made an error.
Thanks for any and all help or advice. Basically just hoping I don’t have to do anything and I just got 6 months’ free health insurance for some reason lol
EDIT: included age and correct flair
