Wife is due in around a month. She currently does not have to pay for her health insurance because she works in the public schools in Minnesota. Her monthly cost jumps to ~$700 if we add the baby to her insurance.
Here are my plan options. Currently I am on the HDHP plan with HSA only minimally contributing due to the fact I have minimal health issues or expenses.
1: $465/month, Co-Pay $25, Deductible $4,500. Max OOP $7,000
2: $400/month, Co-pay $45, Deduct: $7,500. Max OOP $10,000
3: HDP $320/month. HSA, Deduct: $9,000. Max OOP $13,000
My wife and I are looking for guidance on adding the baby to my health insurance after the Life Event.
I most likely won’t be checking the post for the night but I am excited to read all the tips. TIA!
