I’m 19, live in ohio (income will probably be somewhere around 23 – 25,000 next year) and I’m pretty clueless about insurance. Since I’m trans I am going to be getting surgeries in the near future, and I’d like to pick the best plan for that. So far I’m leaning toward the standard plan but I’d like to get a few more opinions. Thank you to anyone that is willing to help out.
Here are the options
Shared deductible: $1000 annual deductible $2000 annual out of pocket max Pay 10% coinsurance after deductible Costs $33 per month
Standard plan: $300 annual deductible $2,300 annual out of pocket max Pay 10% coinsurance after deductible Costs $91 per month
Health savings plan: $1500 annual deductible $3000 annual out of pocket max Pay 10% coinsurance after deductible Costs $33 per month
In network only plan: $100 annual deductible $3600 annual out of pocket max The co-pays on this one varies- at your primary MD the copay is $30 after deductible- specialist is $45 after deductible- hospital is $1000 after deductible
