Ambetter Health

Pro-tip: Don’t ever signup for Ambetter Health. At least if you’re in Ohio, specifically the Greater Cleveland area.

Their “Find a Provider” directory is apparently just filled with incorrect information. For example, 27 Diagnostic Radiologists in my area (out of a total of 39), all with the same exact address and suite number, and the same phone number. A phone number with a Florida area code, which rings to a location in Florida, which knows nothing of any doctors in Ohio.

And there was another radiologist listing really close to me, but they aren’t actually in-network for Ambetter Health, even though they’re listed in the “Find a Provider” directory.

And then when I called Ambetter Health to try to get more accurate provider information, their automated message said to please be patient, as call volumes are high on Mondays. This was today, a Thursday.

Oh, and the person I spoke with confirmed that they use the exact same incorrect information that’s available via their website. And then she kept trying to give me names and phone numbers for nearby radiologists, all from the same location I had already told her rang to Florida.

So then I started calling other local Radiologists in their Provider listings, and of the ones where the phone number listed was still accurate, none of them accepted Ambetter for X-Ray diagnostics. So now I have to drive over to that one address, the one that supposedly 27 different diagnostic radiologists work out of, with a contact number that rings to a completely different state, and hope that against all reason, there may actually be radiologists there, and they may actually accept Ambetter for X-Rays.

If a “Find a Provider” directory shows incorrect contact and location information for AT LEAST 27 out of the 39 Diagnostic Radiology providers that are accepting new patients, and if none of the others actually accept Ambetter for diagnostic X-Rays, that’s a big issue.

All that, and they still don’t allow for MFA or complex passwords for their customer portal. WTF? How is this company still in business?
