Are any people here familiar with limb prosthetics and insurance companies’ reputations? Preferably those that deal with amputees, work for insurances or are amputees themselves. I am trying to find which companies are most progressive, in 2020. It seems most have limits but some are horrible and will deny limbs even for amputees who have thriving careers families and active life. We might have in the future Anthem insurance through work, and it is very hard to find out their amputee benefits when it comes to prosthetic legs, they are very dodgy, whilst some other companies like Aetna or Cigna list those benefits or requirements online. I have found out that 42 Anthem customers who are amputees have had to file group lawsuit for years, to finally win in 2020 and force Anthem to provide them with sufficiently modern limbs as Anthem does not consider microprocessor limbs medically necessary even though they are proven to prevent falls and increase the ability to walk safely and being less tired. I am looking for other companies that may be better and willing to take a specific job or a company or buy private, just to have better benefits. Thank you! Age: 41, zipcode 08555.
