Hope this is the right sub to post this:
We called an ambulance to take me to the hospital in September. Bill was about $3000. The ambulance service was out of network for my insurance, Cigna PPO. Cigna paid ambulance service their negotiated rate of about $800. Ambulance service is billing me for the balance. Cigna tells me it is illegal in California (where I live and where care was provided) for them to balance-bill me, since the ambulance company accepted the negotiated rate and payment. Yet the ambulance company continues to send bills/emails/texts saying I owe them.
Does anyone know the truth on this one? Thanks
