Bind or low deductible?

I’m a new employee at a company and get to choose my health insurance. A little about my health? I had an extended hospitalizations last year that resulted in me being put in a coma, life support, etc. I had intense inhome therapy for physical and occupational needs as well as speech therapy. I’m fully recovered and do not expect to go back into that mess. I had substance abuse (alcohol) that almost killed me but thankfully I’m now 1.5 years sober and the best health of my life.

I expect to go in for routine blood work to check my lipids, bilirubin, and iron. I’m currently on medication for anxiety and severe migraines. I have no other complications that would cause me to go into the hospital. As I’ve said, I’m in great health since my hospitalization and expect to continue.

I’ve been looking at the differences between low deductible and bind. I currently have low deductible. Most of the services I would use are preventative or contraceptive which are both 100% covered. The low deductible is $1,400 with a monthly bill of about $150. The bind has no deductible with a monthly bill of $65.

Give my history and my expected use, which is better? I can afford both monthly rates, I just want to make sure I’m making the best choice. What would your recommendation be and do you have experience with a bind plan?

Thank you for your help!
