At the beginning of December I purchased a health insurance plan from Bluecross Blue. Shield of Michigan. My ICHRA from my employer fell through a few days later, so I canceled the policy to opt for a less expensive option. I was notified I would receive a refund check in the mail for the first premium and it would take 4 weeks to arrive. It has been nearly 10 weeks. I have called them several times over these weeks and I’ve been told to “sit tight” and “be patient” while waiting for the check.
The amount of the premium was enough to set me back, and I’m curious as to what I may be able to do to incentivize a pep in their step. I’m starting to think they’re deliberately stalling and hope I’ll forget about it.
