Can husband enroll in insurance at his work if I lose mine?

I’ve tried to Google this and I’ve found plenty of examples that are similar, but can’t find the exact situation.

I am currently employed full time and receive benefits at work. I have applied for a job that is contract and does not provide benefits. So, I’d need to find a way to get benefits another way if I were to accept the position.

My husband is currently employed but is still on his parent’s insurance since he’s under 26. His employer offers insurance but he declined it because he doesn’t need it.

If I were to get a new job, and lose my benefits, does that count as a qualifying life event such that my husband could enroll both of us into his works insurance plan? Or would he only be able to do that if he lost coverage due to me losing my job?

Thanks in advance!
