cancer/disability insurance???

I am a 41 yr old woman in good health living in North Carolina. I am a non-smoker (never have), within the healthy weight category for my height, I’m physically active and am on no medication, and have been to the doctor for physicals only for the past 10 years. I lost my job in March due to COVID and along with it my health insurance. I do not know when, if ever, I’ll be back to a work world offering insurance. I’m not sure what to do. I don’t have the money for an expensive premium. The things I worry about are the big stuff like injury or cancer. A friend recently suggested I look into cancer insurance. She thought it covered a physical a year which sounds kind of perfect. When I look it up, it seems like this is more of a supplemental insurance to add to a policy. I’m not finding the info I really want. Does anyone know if there is something out there that would cover just the big stuff? All of the big stuff like short and long term disability and cancer or a heart attack or any other random unforeseen big thing? Any advice or direction would be much appreciated.
