Hi Everyone,
I have perennial blockage in my nose which makes breathing through my nose very hard or impossible and will get a surgery that has 3 procedures to perform nasal vestibular thenosis repair and turbino plasty at an Ontalaringology department at a University Hospital. The total cost will be in the range of $20K. My service provider reached out to AETNA for authorization and was told that authorization is not needed and AETNA will review the surgery claim after surgery is done. Is this normal?
Also, what are the chances AETNA denying the surgery claim? What can I do to AETNA once the claim is denied?
Thank you for your advices.
