Hoping everyone is doing well =)
Right now, my wife has a plan from the marketplace with Bright health which doesn’t offer extensive coverage — e.g., despite a 0 deductible, it’s expected to cost ~6500 for the prenatal + birthing (not including insurance payments).
My work issued insurance (Kaiser) will not kick in until Jan 1st of next year but would cut down the out of pocket to just 200 — baby is due end December / start Jan.
Question, if all my prenatal visits are done with a Bright healthcare network, would there be any issue doing the birthing via Kaiser network (considering baby comes after Jan 1)? Don’t you just go to the ER when you’re in labor? So couldn’t I just go to a Kaiser hospital with my membership card?
I’m originally from Canada so please excuse my lack of knowledge.
