I am employed by a hospital system (HS), and my health insurance is through them. I can visit any doctor in-network with that insurance agency, even if they are not affiliated with HS. That makes perfect sense. However, HS has made special arrangements with the insurance so that it’s employees’ prescriptions are only covered at HS’s pharmacy, even though the insurance is normally accepted at Walgreens, Walmart, Kroger, Rite Aid, etc.
This seems fishy to me. Is this a conflict of interest, and if so, is it still legal?
