I’m 18 years old and under my parent’s health insurance (bcbsok).
I’m trans and would like to go on hormones at some point, and I’ve heard that you can change where the EOB are sent so that parents can’t see what medical services you get. Thus, I called to change it and made my own account on the website.
However, since then I’ve heard from someone else (and when I called the company most recently) that EOB only shows what could be covered under the plan and doesn’t have claim information, so where it is sent doesn’t really matter for what I’m concerned. This doesn’t seem to match up with what I see online, although maybe bcbs works differently in Oklahoma?
There’s also a charge for a dental appointment that I thought should be covered, and I would just leave that to my parents, but I’m not sure how much they can see, plus the claim says the EOB isn’t available at the time and doesn’t explain why it may have been rejected so I don’t know how to fix it myself.
Anyway I’m pretty confused, does it actually make a difference where my EOBs are sent?
