Hi there,
I recently got a job which has medical, dental and vision benefits. Their medical plan is provided by Humana and the monthly premium is $226 (employer also pays 50%). The deductible is $3k and after that is met, the plan covers 100%. I am a female, non-smoker, in low 30s in great health. I have never once hit my deductible even when it was lower at other jobs. The dental is an HMO plan which is $41 per month. Vision was about $9. I was shocked by the costs for these. My last employer the total monthly cost all in was about $115, granted it wasn’t a 100% coverage after the deductible was met, but the deductible was also about a grand lower as well.
I’m pretty disappointed and considering just waiving everything and opting for something on the exchange. Does anyone know if there are better options out there on the exchange or something CO based that provides a more affordable option? I know this is a long shot but figured I would ask. Much appreciated for the help, thanks.
