Forgive me if I’m naive, but I’m confused on my delivery bills.
I have a $2,000 deductible, all of which I paid before the delivery in monthly global payments. I still had almost $1,000 billed to me after the delivery, which I guess is co-insurance? Fine, I paid it.
Now 3 months later I get a $1,700 bill for my son. My insurance had adjudged it but left us with that amount. Did my son have to meet his own deductible? Why did they break up the hospital charges between him and me?
(I should also add I paid another about $2,000 for a procedure I had months prior not related to the delivery, so I basically paid my deductible twice, then $1,000, now $1,700…)
I feel completely blindsided and honestly cheated by insurance. I don’t have more money to give them and I’m really anxious about it…
Anyone have insight? Thank you
