Not sure if anyone has insight on this, but I wanted to get more clarification. I have dental insurance through Emblem Health and pay a relatively high premium and have a lifetime maximum for 3000 for orthodontics.
I’m getting adult braces through Invisalign at an out of network office (this could be the most relevant I guess). My insurance company said it’s not an issue and they would cover, etc. Only for me to call today and for them to tell me that out of the 6000 dollars, they would only be covering 700 dollars. Is this normal? I asked for more details on why this would be the case, since my coverage document didn’t give any limits or percentages on any particular orthodontic treatments.
I’m wondering if it’s because it’s out of network but my insurance companies claims that’s not the case, and it’s normal that they only cover a portion of it. I’m not sure if anyone has experience or knowledge on this matter but would be greatly appreciated.
I can provide more information if necessary.
