Do EPOs have to cover out-of-network care after you hit the out-of-pocket maximum?

I’ve read through a lot of threads comparing PPOs and EPOs, and I understand that EPOs typically don’t offer out-of-network coverage. But I’m not clear on what happens once you hit your out-of-pocket annual maximum? Does something like an EPO have to cover all medical costs, regardless of in/out network status at that point?
