Hi again. 27F NY Oxford no dependents. I’m choosing my plan for next year and would like some advice. I’m pretty healthy but I am expecting to have a surgery done sometime early next year. With that in mind I’m torn between going for the PPO which has OON coverage or the EPO which doesn’t.
The PPO premium is 298 biweekly, 0 deductible, 3000 max OOP. The EPO premium is 80 biweekly, with a 3000 deductible and max OOP 8500. Just looking at the premium my first thought would be to go for the EPO but since I’m planning on having a surgery done would it make sense to select the PPO with the lower max OOP? Other than the out of network coverage I don’t know of any other major differences between those two plan types.
