Expected Costs of New Health Insurance?

I am currently on my employers health insurance plan. I plan on leaving in the next 6-8 weeks. I am a healthy 26 year old male. No wife/kids. No pre-existing conditions. 6’3″ 190lb. I am not overweight, I exercise regularly, and I rarely go to the doctor for anything.

My current coverage is the following:

Cigna LocalPlus.

20% co-pay on basically everything for the first $4,000. Primary care, specialist, urgent care and ER. My deductible is $4,000 and my max “out of pocket” is $8,000.

After $4,000 I pay 20% and Cigna pays 80% until I hit the $8,000 threshold. Cigna covers everything after that.

I have never had to “shop” for health insurance before due to my employers covering it. I really don’t know what to expect from a cost standpoint, or where to start.

What kind of cost should I expect to get similar coverage, or maybe even a lesser coverage considering my circumstances? I know I will have to get quotes. However should I be planning on the $800-$1000/mo range? $300-500? Less than $300? Where is a good place to look for the best deal? I make around $75k/yr so I assume I will not qualify for any sort of medicaid/government assistance programs.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
