[FL] I am so incredibly confused. Signing up for dental, I have a child and wife. They are not on the marketplace, only me. If I sign up for a “dental plan families” what does that mean / any advantage to doing such? I assume because they are not on the marketplace, they wouldn’t benefit.

Fit most of my question in the title itself.

I am a father and married. My wife and child have private insurance not through the marketplace. I do buy insurance through the marketplace. I don’t list either on the marketplace as needing assistance (they are listed, just not for needing assistance). My wife however doesn’t have dental insurance. When I am selecting a dental plan, I see plans that say “For families and individuals” and “applies to child essential health benefits only”.

Neither of these things are properly explain on the marketplace at all, and googling doesn’t give resolve (google sucks these days, honestly).

Any idea here? I would assume since I am the only one listed in the “viewing plans for this group” section the insurance would only apply for me with no option to actually add my spouse or children?

What does the “applies to child essential health benefits only” mean?

Thanks for any and all guidance. The marketplace honestly still leaves a lot to be desired.
