First, I have to admit that my knowledge of insurance is very limited and this is my first time using my PPO since I hardly need to go to the doctor. I scheduled an appointment this week with an orthopedic, everything went smoothly. However, today I received a voicemail from the orthopedic center saying that the insurance is requiring me a referral.
I think this is a bit absurd considering I have a PPO. What should I do? Go to my primary doctor (which would take a while) and get the referral or call the insurance? Another problem is that I don’t have much time because of the situation of my injury and my appointment is already on Monday.
Thank you!
