Gaining employer insurance while on Medicaid

Hello all,

I’m Maryland based, been on Medicaid since my qualifying event of turning 26 back in September. My coverage started in October. I’ve been employed and eligible for Medicaid this entire time, but just starting last month I was automatically enrolled in my employer health insurance since I am now qualified for it. The employer insurance is arguably worse than the Medicaid (expensive and high deductible with less options). My income has not changed.

I updated my information on MHC, and it said I wasn’t eligible for enrollment, but says I’m still actively enrolled. What do I need to do? I have weekly doctor’s appointments that I’m still using Medicaid for and I’m afraid of getting in trouble. Should I stop using Medicaid despite being considered active on the website?

Any help would be appreciated.
