Hi All – adult in my 30s here.
My insurance says it covers immunizations recommended by the ‘Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices of the Centers for Disease Control’. For adults (over 26 years old), it seems in terms of the HPV vaccine, it’s more up to the discretion of the doctor as to whether it’s ‘necessary’. If my doctor agrees to give me this vaccine, would it generally be covered? I have Blue Cross Blue Shield if that helps.
I know that most adults are already exposed to HPV, but it’s likely we haven’t been exposed to all the strains/variants, and I’d like to get it for peace of mind (in particular to help prevent HPV-related cancers).
Any insight appreciated!
