Hi. I’m in what seems like a complicated situation, but also may be a common one. Partner was laid off in August. We applied for a Marketplace plan (on 8/31) but apparently we had missed the deadline to get coverage for September. The question is can we elect Cobra for the month in between? I saw on the Cobra form that if you cancel Cobra you are not eligible for a Special Enrollment Period. But we’d still be in the same Special Enrollment Period for the lay off, right? Can you use it twice like that? Also we’ve already been approved and paid out premium for the Marketplace coverage so does it matter? So confusing! What do people do in this situation?
