Got ridiculous charge from insurance company

Hi everyone! I’m new to this subreddit but I recently got my own insurance through my employer (Blue Shield Silver PPO Savings Plan) and so I’ve never had to pay for my own healthcare. I recently went to an urgent care facility with a sprained ankle and I made sure to ask for their costs before receiving crutches and a walking boot. The doctor went to check for me and told me the walking boot was $45 and so I agreed to get the walking boot from them. I checked their website that also has the same price listed for the walking boot. After about 2 weeks, I get a bill from my insurance saying that it costs $330 for this walking boot and I was in shock. If I had known this would be the cost I would have purchased it on my own and not through the urgent care clinic. I called both my insurance company and the clinic and they said there’s nothing they can do. I even asked the clinic if I can pay in cash because it’s cheaper than going through my high deductible insurance. They said it’s not possible because I have insurance so I have to use it. Have any of you had similar experiences and what can I do now to potentially get the price reduced? What can I do in the future to prevent this kind of thing from happening? All advice is greatly appreciated, thank you!
