Has anyone heard of BAS and why does no doctor or facility recognize it?

I work in assisted living full-time and the insurance offered was to a TPA called Benefit Administrative Systems (BAS). The card includes a medical, pharmacy, and lab plan, and a claims submission #. The medical plan mentions PHCS Practicioner Only, but they are apparently only for “finding in-network providers.”

Our dental is fine (albeit limited after 1 root canal) but the medical insurance has been a struggle. Just trying to find therapy services nobody seems to recognize BAS or PHCS.

I give them the number for both and one therapist outright refused it after the rep refused to give them any information. I’ve had 2 other places say they can’t find or distinguish BAS.

_

BAS is just the “third party” whereas my job is the actual “insurance.”

Do I need to give them the name of my employer? Because saying BAS or PHCS just seems to leave people baffled. Is there any better way to find in-network providers or am I just going to have to do the legwork and search my area for people who recognize my insurance? Has anyone ever heard of, or had any experience with BAS or PHCS similar to mine?
