Hi,
I have blue cross blue shield health insurance. My out of network deductible is $2700.
I paid a total of $4,000 to out of network health care providers.
I called their customer service to see if i could get anything reimbursed since I met the deductible.
Apparently the way that it works is that blue cross blue shield will only count 30% of your fees toward your deductible.
So in reality, while I spent $4,000 towards my deductible, according to my health insurance I only spent $1,200 towards it.
So basically the out of network deductible is really $9,000 instead of $2,700. I asked the csr doesn’t it make sense to show the $9,000 deductible instead of the misleading 2,700 lbs.
I can’t really do anything about it. I’m just pissed.
