I’m considering waiving health insurance coverage for the first time in my life. I’m 29 and last month I went to a general practitioner doctor for the first time since my pediatrician at 17. I have no underlying health conditions, no scary family history. I am fully aware that anything can happen at any time….that I can be the healthiest person to walk this earth today and then fall ill or get hit by a car tomorrow. But considering I’ve been to the doctor once in 12 years and only because I was genuinely curious, not because something was wrong….makes me want to waive my health insurance this year. I just changed jobs and I’ll be spending 2.5x the amount I was paying at my last job, for worse coverage ironically. And still a 5k deductible. I live in PA so there’s no state mandate for health insurance and I work from home and I leave my house once a week if that lol. I’m just curious if anyone else has intentionally waiver coverage for a bit and whether or not you were glad you did.
