I have been in USA on work visa and have good coverage for myself. My parents (not from US) are old (73 and 67 years old). My plan is for them to move to US in few years and live with me.
My question is – what kind of health care/insurance are available for them?
Since they are not US citizens, nor have they ever paid taxes/Medicare here, they probably don’t qualify for Medicare, am I correct?
My own insurance lets me add dependents, but it’s limited to spouse and children (not for covering parents).
Is private insurance the only way to go? I took a quick glance at UHC plans and even the plans that cost $1100 per month premium have very high deductibles.
If it comes down to it, I will buy a private insurance for them. But decided to ask on this forum, in case someone knows something that I haven’t considered.
