I’m looking at health insurance plan on the marketplace. The cheapest family plans run for about $850 a month with a $17k family deductible. Most of the health insurance plans are along these lines, but there is one that is $1150 a month with 0 deductible. Emergency room visits are $1000 and the family out of pocket max is $17k. I would only use the family out of pocket max if there is a surgery or something similar to that correct?
To me, this seems like the best plan if we ever have to visit the emergency room, which we’ve had to twice in the past year.
