Health insurance condition of employment

Ok. Here we go. I am on my husbands insurance plan. Recently I had a lot of medical issues. I need to have a surgery soon. I met my individual deductible so going forward with surgery in a couple months….I’m in a good spot. Or so I thought.

I started a new job. I was not made aware of this condition but they require you to take their insurance (starts 30 days after start date). The deductible is 3x what my current deductible is. I asked to opt of their plan because of my other coverage. I was told no. I can prove that I was not told about this till day 13 of my employment. I can’t afford the deductible therefore I can’t get my surgery now. If they would have told me I would have put all my appointments and testing I had in the last 3 weeks off till this plan started. I can’t afford two huge deductibles in one year. Honestly if I knew this stipulation I wouldn’t have taken the job.

I was wondering because they failed to communicate this with me do I have any grounds to do anything?
