I’m an American born teen and my mom is a naturalized citizen from Ukraine. We are middle-class and live on Long Island, New York. My grandma, her mother, lives in Ukraine and is turning 84 this September. We want to take her to live with us in America, and eventually get her lawful residency/citizenship. But the only problem we have is regarding healthcare. She has a few health problems, mostly to do with her heart/blood pressure, and will need to see a doctor regularly in general. How can a person of her age and in her situation get health insurance while she is in the process of getting residency/citizenship so we can afford regular visits to the doctor? I don’t really know much about how all this works, so I’d appreciate if someone could explain it to me. Thanks!
