I’ll try to keep this short but it’s complicated, sorry. Basically, my husband and I are both self-employed. Last year, 2021, we + our daughter were all on one plan through BCBS TX that was under my LLC. I told our broker in December that my husband and daughter both needed to be removed from my health insurance + dental plan, as they found a cheaper option through ReMax where my husband is an agent.
I have it in writing (Email) that my broker saw the change and said she would make it. She never did. My premium for January still had all 3 of us on both insurance and dental, but meanwhile my husband has been paying premium for him + daughter.
Okay, so NBD I thought – I’ll just get my broker to fix my plan so I can pay the correct amount on my premium. But, when I emailed my broker over 2 weeks ago, she never responded. I have since emailed her + 2 staff members + her general office inbox 8+ times in the last 2 weeks with no response. I’ve also called and left multiple voicemails. I even set up a “Sales call” through her website and she did not show up. She did email me and say she didn’t forget me and is running late but that was 3 hours ago and no call.
What do I do? I’m 14 weeks pregnant and ABSOLUTELY need insurance. If I don’t pay January premium by end of this month, my policy cancels. Do I just pay the full amount ($1600+) and hope the broker responds eventually to correct/adjust it? I’ve also called BCBS and they said they can’t make any changes and I need to go through my broker.
I’m really stressed out and can’t believe she isn’t responding. I’m totally good firing her at this point but IDK if another agent could backdate and fix her mess? What do I do? 🙁 TYIA!
