Help with receiving refund

I live in GA, I have Blue Cross Blue Shield, and the lab that was used is LabCorp. If there is any additional information needed, I will provide it.

I’m having a lot of trouble getting a refund issued from LabCorp for a test. I previously had a Vitamin D test ordered by my endocrinologist through LabCorp in May 2020. I knew that the test would be denied at first but I have a hormone disorder that makes my Vit D levels low so I figured I have enough to fight a denied claim. At first the claim for the test was denied, and my doctor submitted a different ICD-10 code for the test, which was denied again. I submitted an appeal through my insurance with a letter from my doctor explaining medical necessity for the test. While I was waiting on all these steps to be carried out by my doctor and insurance, LabCorp continued to send invoices. I called them each time, explained the situation, and they placed my account on hold temporarily to buy me time to get all this done. While I was waiting on the appeal, they sent my account to their in-house collections. I called LabCorp and asked if I could pay now and get a refund at a later date if my insurance company accepted the appeal. I was told that this was possible. I paid the bill and waited for my insurance to process the appeal, which was accepted and they sent me a new EOB with the accepted charges. I called LabCorp and asked for a refund. I was told I would receive it within 7-10 days. That was at the beginning of February, and I’ve called LabCorp three times since that first call asking for my refund. I keep asking for a refund, they keep saying that they’ll process it, and then nothing happens. What are my choices here? Am I screwed?
