I’m a California resident with health insurance in CA, but this happened in TX. Over Christmas I tested positive for COVID. The original plan was to stay with a family member, but due to my sickness, the family member did not feel comfortable with my staying there so I got a hotel. I was there for 7 nights riding out the sickness. I’m curious if either CA or TX has like a repayment plan or something similar to that regarding COVID expenses, and if this would even apply. Anything would be helpful as my plan for Christmas was not to spend hundreds of dollars to stay in a hotel (though I’m happy to say I got no one sick) – any help would be greatly appreciated.
