Last month I was admitted into the ER for appendicitis and they did an emergency appendectomy on me. I stayed overnight and was discharged the next day. This is my first ER at a hospital so I’m not sure what to expect. I’m on a UHC PPO choiceplus plan. So far, I’ve received bills for:
– Inpatient visit for doctor: $430
– actual surgery performed by doctor: $70
—– deductible hit —-
– hospital outpatient services: $100 copay
– Anesthesia: $112 coinsurance
– Radiology services: $20 coinsurance
I’ve gone over the EOB and they all seem legit. I just don’t want to keep getting hit with bills that I didn’t know existed. I thought they charged one lump sum from the hospital. So this is standard procedure, every department bills differently?
To make it worse, hospital is Scripps and I can’t even access my account as they recover from the hack 2 weeks ago, lol.
