I need better medical care than the health care coverage my new employer will offer. What are my options?

This is a throwaway account for privacy reasons. I’m changing careers and am in graduate school, and just accepted a new job in my field that pays less than 30K. I have a chronic illness that requires me to take expensive medication and I have to get lab work done every three months because of it. I have a few other medical issues as well that also require labs/getting blood drawn from time to time. I just found out that this new job’s health insurance does not pay for any lab work, and even after the deductible is met, they will only cover 20% of it. I’m not sure how much of my medication they will cover.

Do I have any other options for receiving healthcare that meets my medical needs better without making me go broke, or am I just completely screwed? Paying for a full healthcare plan is not an option on this salary, but if labs are incredibly expensive each time then I am also screwed.
