I’ve heard the provider must file to the insurance in a timely fashion, how can I find the laws on that? If they don’t, who is on the hook?
These are the things I don’t understand as my provider keeps filing wrong no matter how many times I remind them how to file things. They say they will, but half the time don’t. Some of these appointments are with a previous insurance plan, almost 2 years old. So do they have to file in a “timely fashion?” What is a “timely fashion?” What if they don’t, who is on the hook?
I’m so frustrated and concerned. They keep getting rejected (because they are filing wrong!) and telling me I owe, and I call them and explain and they promise to refile, but it still isn’t moved to pending. They don’t seem in any hurry but I worry I can’t get this sorted out as I may be married next year, and some of these bills are years old and they haven’t even filed.
Will I be on the hook for thousands since they didn’t file? What if they filed wrong? What can I do? Please help!
